Who we are
Welcome to the Cat v. Canary Guild!
Step inside our traveling living-history camp and take a seat at the game table. Our volunteers research, recreate, and teach historical board games from different cultures and centuries. Every public demonstration is free. You don’t need to know the rules; we’ll teach you.
Cat v. Canary Guild is the public educational program of Cat v. Canary Foundation, a Washington-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Discover the games
Try Egyptian Senet, the Royal Game of Ur, Roman Duodecim Scripta, Hnefatafl, Nine Men’s Morris, and other games people have played across history. Visitors are welcome to learn at their own pace.
